4. Data Storage and Security

Party data is stored using Google Firebase Cloud Firestore, hosted on servers in the United States. Photos are stored in Firebase Cloud Storage. We also store some data locally on your device using browser local storage to enable offline functionality.

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

When you create or join a party, the party details (menu, guest list, photos) are shared with all participants of that party. This is core to hostr's collaborative functionality.

We do not share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share information if required by law or to protect our rights.

Party photos are automatically deleted 21 days after the party date. Party data (menus, guest lists, and other details) may be retained for a reasonable period after the party date to allow hosts and guests to reference event details. You can delete your party at any time through the App, which removes all associated data from our servers.

hostr is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy within the app or on our website. Your continued use of hostr after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
